Lt. Col. Anthony Francis Terranova, 93, of Gap, passed away at his home on Friday, January 1, 2016, surrounded by his family.  He was the widower of Mildred MacFarlane Terranova, who passed away in 2005 after they had shared 62 years of marriage.

Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Sarah Marie (Brocanarro) and Francisco Terranova.  He was a graduate of West Philadelphia High School.  Anthony retired from the US Air Force as a Lt. Col., having served in Europe during WWII, and in Vienna, Roswell, N.M. and the Delaware Air Guard for 34 years.  

He was a Past President of the Octorara Area School Board.

He is survived by two children: Richard Terranova and wife Holly of Palatine, ILL.,and  Diane O'Connor, wife of Jerry, of Crystal Lake, ILL.; seven grandchildren,  Antoinette Smith, Brianna, Carrie, Joseph and Chaya Terranova, Dr. Patrick O'Connor and Capt. Kevin O'Connor, and eight great grandchildren; and his brother, Frank Terranova of Louisville, KY.

He was predeceased by his children Elaine and Frank Terranova.

The Funeral Service will be held on Monday, January 11th, 2016 at 10:30 AM at Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St., Parkesburg.  The viewing will be from 9:30 to 10:30 AM.  Interment will be held at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
