Leroy R. Carolus, Sr., 86, of Gordonville, formerly of Parkesburg, passed away on Monday, January 11, 2010 at Lancaster General Hospital.  He was the beloved husband of Pauline Bubb Carolus, with whom he shared 60 years of marriage.  

Born on July 27, 1923 in Lewistown, Pa., he was the son of the late Mary McNeer and Samuel T. Carolus.  He served honorably in the US Army during WWII.  

He retired from Diversified Printing after 10 years of employment.  He was a lifetime member of the Parkesburg V.F.W.   He attended Petra Christian Fellowship in New Holland.  

He survived, in addition to his wife, by his four children, Leroy Carolus Jr., husband of Susan, of Bridgeport, Terry Carolus, husband of Sherry, of Cochranville, Brenda Pratt, wife of David, of Gordonville and Cindy Walton, wife of Jeff, of Ephrata; a sister, Kathryn Mitchell of Paradise; eight grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his son Robert E. Carolus.  

The funeral service will be held on Monday, January 18, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Petra Christian Fellowship, 565 Airport Road, New Holland, Pa. 17557, followed by interment in the Terre Hill Methodist Cemetery.  Family and friends are invited to attend the viewing from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church.

Mrs. Carolus, Cindy & All,

I was sadden to hear about Mr. Carolus. It brought back some happy memories of the whoopi pies, camping trips and just hanging out at your house. I am keeping all of you in my thoughts and prayers at this difficult time. Mr. Carolus was a great guy. Tresure all those happy memories.
