Joyce J. Martin, 74, of Parkesburg, PA., passed away at her home, surrounded by her loving family.  She was the wife of William Martin, with whom she shared 52 years of marriage.  Born in Toliver, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Eugene and Mildred (Roark) Phillips.  

She was a 1962 graduate of Scott High School. She was an area resident for most of her life and a member of Wagontown Chapel of Coatesville, PA.

Joyce was a talented seamstress, owning and operating Joyce's Custom Sewing.  

Joyce was an extraordinary wife, mom, mom-mom, and great mom-mom, who loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.  

She is survived, in addition to her husband, by her daughters, Shelly, wife of Darren DeVoe, of Parkesburg and Robin, wife of Aaron Cooke, of Tucson, AZ.; four grandchildren, Shane, Chelsea, Tyler, and Breanna; and one great-grandchild, Fennec; and siblings, Polly Eller of Ephrata, Jackie Roark of North Carolina, Henry Phillips of Coatesville, Susie Swartzentruber of Parkesburg, Roger Phillips of Coatesville and Dean Phillips of Delaware.  

The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 30, 2018, at 11:00 AM at the Wagontown Chapel of Coatesville with the viewing from 9:30-11:00 AM.  The burial will follow at the Upper Octorara Cemetery in Parkesburg, PA.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude's Children Research Hospital by clicking HERE, or to Wagontown Chapel at the above address.

Bill and family , you all are in my thoughts and in my  prayers. May God give comfront at this difficult sad time. Aunt  Joyce is at peace and no more pain. I remember her taking me home with her.

And staying all night  and us laughing over things. And our walk  the next morning. Aunt Joyce always was a wonderful person and she came to see us when I took dad ,and mom to Pa.

I love you all and so sorry to hear about Aunt Joyce passing away.
