Joy Carolyn Gilmore, 71, of Quarryville, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 30, 2015 at her home.  She was born on September 30, 1937 to Russell Luff Wolverton and Bertha Elizabeth (Harmer) Wolverton.  

Joy was the wife of C. Rodney Gilmore.  They were married on December 14, 1957 and  shared 57 years of marriage together.  They are the parents of Rod B. Gilmore, husband of Michelle, of Mt. Joy and Lauri S. (Gilmore) Steiner, wife of Ron Steiner, of Stephens, PA.  Joy was the proud grandmother of seven grandchildren and one great granddaughter.  

Joy attended elementary and high school in Parkesburg, PA.  She then continued her education at West Chester Teachers College.  Joy taught for 30 years at Honey Brook Elementary School.

Joy enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling, reading and Bible study.  
Private graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family.

We are so sorry to hear about Aunt Joy. May she fly to Jesus. May God wrap His loving arms around your family, and give you peace and comfort at this difficult time. We loved her.

Dear Uncle Rod and family heartfelt sympathies from all of us! I enjoyed taking care of her last yr at Quarryville. My Father Art McGinnis also sends his sincere condolences we also lost my Mom and his wife a year ago this May. I hope she's up there showing Aunt Joy around!!

Rod and Family,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,We have lost a wonderful, caring and loving person.  She will be greatly missed by all of us.  She was my sister and I loved her dearly.  She will be watching over us and that is comforting.  May she rest in peace.  Love you.

Dear Uncle Rod and family, We are so sorry to hear of Aunt Joys passing. She was a very loving, careing, and funny lady that will be missed by so many.
