John R. "Dick" Zachary, 83, of Glenmoore, passed away on Tuesday, April 13, 2010 at the Brandywine Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Kay Criswell Zachary, with whom he shared 25 years of marriage.
Born on July 21, 1926 in Crawfordsville, Ind., he was the son of the late Elmer D. and Flo Garver Zachary. He was self employed as a farmer, and owned and operated Zachary Appliance Service factory appliance serviceman. He was a member of the Coast Guard Auxillary.
John was a member of the Forks of the Brandywine Presbyterian Church, where he was a past elder.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, gardening and camping.
He is survived, in addition to his wife, by his daughter, Suzan Z. Daller, fiancé of Francis Harrington, of West Chester; stepsons, Richard I. Whiteman, Jr., husband of Marie, of Glenmoore and Kevin E. Whiteman of Glenmoore; three grandchildren and three great grandchildren, and his dog, Casey. He was predeceased by his siblings, Lawrence, William and Mildred Pickle.
The Funeral Service will be held on Monday, April 19, 2010 at 11 a.m. at the Forks of the Brandywine Presbyterian Church, 1648 Horseshoe Pike, Glenmoore, Pa. 19343, followed by interment in the adjoining cemetery. Family and friends are invited to attend the viewing at the Church from 10 until 11 AM.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either the Forks of the Brandywine Presbyterian Church, at the above address, or to the American Heart Association, 625 W. Ridge Pike #100, Conshohocken, PA 19428.

Kay, Sue, Andy and Jed and all your family...Tim and I are so sorry for your loss. I'm so glad we got to know Dick over the past few years. He was such a nice man and it was evident to all how much he loved his family. We will miss him at the birthday parties, picnics, Christmas and family get togethers.
