Joanne C. Benner

Joanne C. Benner, 82, of Honey Brook, formerly of Pomeroy, passed away on Saturday, January 7, 2012 at the Hickory House Nursing Home. She was the wife of the late Carl O. Benner who died in 2002 with whom she had shared 48 years of marriage. Born in Johnstown, PA, she was the daughter of the late Edwin O. and Cornelia Ester Roberts Constable. Joanne was an area resident all her life and a 1947 graduate of the former Scott High School in Coatesville. She had been employed by the Lukens Steel Company as a key punch operator. She was a member of the Lukens Veterans Guild, the Sadsbury Township Historical Society and the Parkesburg Area Senior Citizens. Joanne had a passion for life, laughter and her little dog Taffy. She also loved spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by one daughter Jerrilyn, wife of William Supplee of Honey Brook, two grandchildren Lauren and Heather and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three brothers; Jim, Jack and Bob Constable.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 11, 2012 at 11:00 am from the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St. Parkesburg, followed by interment at the Upper Octorara Presbyterian Cemetery, Parkesburg, PA. Family and friends are also invited to attend the viewing at the funeral home from 10 to 11:00 am.
