Jesse "Rock" Stauffer, 57, of Coatesville, passed away at his home on Sunday, October 9, 2011, surrounded by his family. He was the beloved husband of Alice A. (Simon) Stauffer, with whom he shared 34 years of marriage.
Born in Chester County, he was the son of the late Harwin L. "Jake" Stauffer Sr. and Florence Jessie Stauffer. He was a 52 year resident of Modena, and lived the last five years in West Brandwine Township.
Rock was a 1973 graduate of CASH and had been employed at Lukens Steel and Arcellor Mittal for the past 33 years, where he was a member of Local 1156.
He is surived, in addition to his wife, by his three sons: Jesse "Rocky" Stauffer, husband of Kelly, of East Fallowfield, Nicholas J. Stauffer, husband of Kimberly, of Lampeter and Jonathon M. Stauffer of Coatesville; as well as three adoring grandchildren, Dustin and Aidan of East Fallowfield and Jenna of Lampeter.
He leaves behind two brothers, Jake Stauffer of Coatesville and John Stauffer of Honey Brook; two sisters, Clara Ziobro of Downingtown and Darlene "Dee" Stauffer of Honey Brook; three stepbrothers and two stepsisters, Jack and James Stauffer of Gap, and Harwin Stauffer, Jr., and Virginia Lebanon of Lancaster, and Phoebe Weaver of Denver, PA.
The Memorial Service will be held on Friday, October 14, 2011 at 11 a.m. at the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St., Parkesburg with Pastor Mark Beideman officiating. Family and friends are invited to the visitation from 10 until 11 AM.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Rock's memory to the Borough of Modena Park Fund.
