Jess Czetli, Jr., 67, of Lancaster, formerly of Parkesburg, PA,  passed away at his home on Tuesday, January 10, 2012. He was the beloved husband of Virginia McGuigan Czetli with whom he shared 46 years of marriage. Born in Hopley, Ohio, he was the son of the late Jess Czetli, Sr. and Phyllis Locke Czetli. Jess proudly served in the US Army during the Vietnam War and later the National Guard. He taught electronics at the Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology in Lancaster. 


 

Jess was a faithful member, Elder, Sunday School teacher and choir member of the First United Presbyterian Church of Parkesburg. He was also a member of the American Legion of Lancaster and a former member of the Keystone Masonic Lodge #569, F & AM of Parkesburg. 

 

He is survived, in addition to his wife, by two children; Robert J. Czetli and wife Stephanie of Neffsville, PA and Elissa L. Czetli of Lancaster, one granddaughter Paige Czetli and two brothers; Steven Czetli of Bowmansville, PA and David Czetli of Smyrna, DE.

 

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2012 at 11:00 am from the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St. Parkesburg, PA followed by interment at the Glen Run Cemetery, Atglen, PA. Family and friends are also invited to attend the viewing at the funeral home from 10 to 11:00 am. Memorial donations may be made in his memory to the First United Presbyterian Church of Parkesburg, 511 Main St., Parkesburg, PA 19365.

O God, before whom generations rise and pass away, we praise you for all your servants who, having lived this life in faith, now live eternally with you. Especially we thank you for your servant Jess, whose baptism is now complete in death.We praise you for the gift of his life, for all in him that was good and kind and faithful, for the grace you gave him that kindled in him the love of your dear name, and enabled him to serve you faithfully.We thank you that for him death is past and pain ended, and that he has now entered the joy you have prepared, through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Lift heavy sorrow and give us good hope in Jesus that we may bravely walk our earthly way and look forward to glad reunion in the life to come.

I had not seen Jess since our days together at Copley High School (Class of 62), but he was a fine young man as a teenager and so I am not surprised he turned into a wonderful adult. My deepest condolences to his wife and children.

Dear Ginnie, Elissa and Rob and extended family, We are so sorry to hear of Jess' passing but am happy to know that he was a man of great faith and is pain free and happily looking down on us all now. Jess, I will miss you greatly. Always so upbeat, no matter how bad times were. Even when you were not feeling up to it all. You always kept a positive attitude. I was so sad to learn of cousin Jess’ passing, and will always remember how very kind he was when he visited my parents many years ago while on a trip to CA. He quickly warmed our hearts with his gentle spirit, kindly ways and sense of humor. I know that he will be greatly missed, and my heart and prayers go out to you in deepest sympathy. God Bless.
