Jennie Bennett Reid, 94, of East Fallowfield Twp., passed away on Wednesday, January 13, 2021, at Brandywine Hospital.  She was the widow of the late Walter Landis Reid, with whom she shared 51 years of marriage.  

 
Born in Lenape, Chester County, Jennie was the daughter of Elsie and Horace D. Bennett.  She was a lifelong resident of Chester County and graduated from the former Scott High School in the class of 1944.  
 
While employed at Tri-M, Jennie enjoyed her contribution to the assembly of the original Christmas tree lights at Longwood Gardens.  She was a dedicated family genealogist.  In addition to keeping up on genealogy, she also enjoyed crocheting, gardening, and cooking.
 
She is survived by her five children: Nancy Summers, and husband Gary, Donald Reid, and wife Becky, Ruth Hammond, and husband Gary, Mary Wilkinson, and husband Lewis, and William Reid; 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and one great, great-grandchild.  
 
Jennie was predeceased by her brothers, Horace D., Clifford, and Edwin Bennett.
 
A private graveside service will be held at Upper Octorara Cemetery.

To the Reid family:  So sorry for your loss.  Mrs. Reid was quite an interesting lady.  I was amazed at her memory of the people, places and especially the dates that events took place.  I always enjoyed talking with her.

So sorry for your lose, I still and always have had memories of you mother and the entire family, and all the baseball games in the field across from her home in Doe Run
