James E. Rice, 70, of Pomeroy, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Wednesday, June 27, 2018. He was the beloved husband of Ellen Leamy Rice with whom he shared 45 years of marriage. Born in Coatesville, he was the son of the late Charles and Norma J. Millard Rice.
Jim was an area resident all his life. He was employed for 49 years by Arcelor Mittal Steel Company in Coatesville. He was a member of the Pomeroy United Methodist Church.
He is survived, in addition to his wife, by two sons; James Joseph Rice and John J. Rice both of Pomeroy and three sisters; Sandy Smith of Coatesville, Becky Wagner of Downingtown and Donna Rice of Coatesville.
