Gregory L. Evans, 61, of Gap, passed away on Tuesday, March 3, 2009 while under the care of Hospice of Lancaster County at the Essa Flory Center. He was the husband of Deborah A. Ondeck Evans.
Born in Coatesville, he was the son of Amelia B. Mackey of Akron, and the late Fredrick Evans, and the step-son of the late John Mackey.
He was employed as a facility operator at Quebecor Printing Inc. of Atglen for 26 years, retiring three years ago. Greg was a member of the Rainmakers, the Gap VFW, the Perryville American Legion and a life member of the Amvets #19.
He is survived, in addition to his wife, by his sons, Greg, husband of Mary, of Denver, PA, Mike, husband of Tracy, of Willow Street, Everett and Peter Swartz both of Gap and daughter Barb Nileski, wife of Ed, of Coatesville; three grandchildren, Lisa, Mallory and Colin; his brother, Fred Evans and wife Peg, of Todd, PA, and his brother-in-law, Michael Ondeck and wife Deb of Lititz.
Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2009 at 11 AM at the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St., Parkesburg. Family and friends are invited to also attend the visitation, which will be held at the Funeral Home from 10 until 11 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Lancaster County, 685 Good Dr. P.O. Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604-9829.
