Arthur Ray Merida, 72, of Cochranville, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 3, 2019 surrounded by his family. Born on May 9, 1946 to the late Anthony and Nancy Bargo Merida of Barbourville, Kentucky.  

Ray was a graduate of the Elkton High School in Elkton, MD.  He was retired from the Chrysler Assembly Plant of Newark, Delaware after 35 years of service. 

Ray loved his beagle dogs and he was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed being outdoors even just a quiet afternoon under a shade tree made him happy. Most of all he loved his family and his childhood memories of growing up in rural Kentucky.

He is survived by his daughters, Diane Keen and husband Tony of Conowingo, Maryland, Kathy May and fiance Steve Walton of Cochranville, PA, three grandsons Leeroy  Krauss and wife Shanna of Oxford, PA, Andrew Smith and wife Kayla of Landenberg, PA and Christopher  Schuler of Conowingo , MD, Ray was preceded  in death by his 12 siblings, one grandson Randy Smith. Ray is survived by his brother Shelby Merida of Indiana, his sister Francis Thimling of Indiana and a Nephew Gene Merida of Elkton Md whom was like a brother and a host of nieces and nephews and one great granddaughter, Kaylee Rae Krauss.

Services will be held in Kentucky at a later date to be announced with the burial taking place at Bargo Cemetery in Barbourville, Kentucky.
