David W. Henkels

David W. Henkels, 89, of West Brandywine Township, PA, passed away at his home on Wednesday, May 8, 2024.  He married Kathaleen Levengood on May 12,1956 and they were together for over 67 years.  Born in Chester Springs, PA, he was the son of the late David and Rebecca Burgess Henkels.

David was an area resident most of his life.  He graduated from Henderson High School in West Chester, PA, and attended Grove Methodist Church, West Chester PA and Central Presbyterian Church in Downingtown, PA.  David served in the army during the Korean War. He was an avid hunter and pistol shooter. David also enjoyed woodworking, caning, and following NASCAR. David retired from Suburban Propane in Exton and was a member of the Downingtown VFW.

In addition to his wife he is survived by his children, Desiree (Michael) Mathis of Wernersville, PA, Jason (Margaret) Henkels of Denver, PA and two grandchildren, Nicole (Andrew) Kazmierczak and Kristina (Jordan) Ernewein both of Reading, PA.
