Albert J. Hensel, 83, of Coatesville, passed away on Friday, December 10, 2010 at the Harrison Senior Living Center. He was the beloved husband of Ruth M. Kochel Hensel, with whom he shared 60 years of marriage.


Born in Thorndale, he was the son of John A. Hensel and Alice Daller Hensel. An area resident his entire life, he was employed as a foreman at Coatesville Plate Washer Co. for most of his career, and eventually retiring from Coatesville Water Authority.


Albert served honorably in the US Navy in the Asiatic - Pacific Campaign of World War II. He was a member of the Brandywine - Goddard Lodge 383 F&A.M of Coatesville.


He is survived, in addition to his wife, by three children: Deborah Panning, wife of Henry, of Downingtown, David Hensel, husband of Carol, of Winter Springs, Fl. and Dale Hensel, husband of Nancy, of Parkesburg; five grandchildren; and three siblings, Robert Hensel of Downingtown, Jim Hensel of Glenmoore and Mary Ann McEwen of Mohrsville.


He was predeceased by his son, Dennis M. Hensel.


The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, December 15, 2010 at 11 AM at the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St., Parkesburg, followed by interment in the Fairview Cemetery of Coatesville. Family and friends are invited to attend the viewing, which will be held from 10 until 11 AM.
